This gripping narrative unfolds within the dark and unforgiving confines of a Tâsir slaver complex. Lû’fän, a young Tâsiran woman, has just completed her brutal, rigorous training to be integrated among the elite guardians of the high Tâsir aristocracy. However, her older sister, Nû’fän, envisions a far different destiny for her. Operating as a member of a clandestine intelligence and smuggling network for the Western Resistance against the cruel ruler of Mâr Rasûnar, Nû’fän has orchestrated a perilous escape.
Thrust into a life on the run, Lû’fän must put her trust in an unlikely ally: Järên, a resourceful Lûvian smuggler. Together, they embark on a treacherous and grueling journey starting from the shadows of Näsû Rasûnar, traversing the hostile Rasûnar provinces, toward the western province of defiance and hope Vôklëtân.
